Rotary and Rotaract Club Roma Cassia, in partnership with the PRIMA Center and the Cultural Association Music Theatre International – M.Th.I. ETS., have launched the Pr.I.Ma. Project, an area dedicated to those who want to pull back the curtain and look deeply into their inner lives in order to reach a better understanding and create change in themselves to breake the vicious cycle that generates violence.
THE PR.I.MA PROJECT
As Rotary members, we are committed to spreading the values on which the Rotary global network rests, of which the protection of every individual’s rights and dignity is the essence.
We believe that life is our most precious asset to be protected at all costs, and that mutual respect is the foundation on which to build healthy relationships.
It is unacceptable to live in a country where a woman is killed every day.
To help solve this heinous problem, the Rotary Club Roma Cassia has designed and launched the Pr.I.Ma Project, which fights against all forms of violence, with special focus on the kind of violence that remains hidden. It’s essential we recognize it, if we are to fight it.
Prevention is of the essence. That is why we work with schools and the young to shape a new frame of mind. We’re committed to prove that violent behaviors can be changed through specific treatment pathways delivered by Men’s Resource and Listening Centers. This is the only way to effect real change.
We ask the entire civil society to be accountable, so that everyone of us can play his/her part and put an end to this social scourge.
It is high time to unite to promote solidarity and bring about radical changes that respect the uniqueness of each individual and, above all, the freedom of women.

PROJECT MISSION
- Promoting the nurturing of a culture of respect to overcome gender stereotypes
- Developing critical awareness to recognize and counter violent and gender discriminatory messages and behaviors
- Developing prevention strategies by enhancing awareness and sensitivity about potential aggressive and controlling behaviors by men, including young men. In this respect, it is important to recognize both the behaviors performed and the ones suffered by the parties concerned.
- Promoting information and training about the importance of reporting and the role of the victim
- Assessing the effectiveness of the project by administering questionnaires to participating boys at the beginning and end of the activities
